Covid-19

November 24, 2021

Dear Friends,

The positivity rate in Jefferson County is up slightly to 3% from 2.8% last week. The Jefferson County vaccination rate remains stable at 62%. St. Martin’s has no new cases of COVID-19 this week. We are pleased that the visitation regulations have been lifted! St. Martin’s invites all to visit family members, including children and pets. The CDC requires those in healthcare (staff and visitors) to continue the practice of temperature checks upon arrival and wearing masks in common areas.

CMS announced a mandate for all health care staff to be fully vaccinated by January 4, 2022. “Fully vaccinated” implies that staff in this level of care receive the first dose by December 5th and the second dose by January 4th. The booster is not required.

Visitation Update:

  • Out of courtesy to residents, suggested visiting hours – 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM.
  • Visitors need to self-screen at the door and masks must be worn when in common space.
  • You are welcome to visit in common areas.
  • Children are now permitted to visit indoors.
  • All visitors, residents and staff are required to wear a mask over mouth and nose, practicing social distance, avoiding crowds and washing hands.

Please remember to use either the Montclair Road or Montevallo Road gate, as the Woodside Drive gate has been permanently closed.

Thank you for continuing to follow all of the safety guidelines and wearing your mask while on campus.

Thoughtfully,

Carol M. Holzman
